I have great pleasure in welcoming you to Ightenhill Nursery School. Children, parents, staff and governors are all very proud of our OUTSTANDING Nursery School and value nursery education. Our school age range is from 2-4 years.

We are a maintained nursery school with a Headteacher, qualified teachers and highly skilled staff. We have a fantastic Forest School on site which is led by our Level 3 Forest School leaders. All children participate in Forest School sessions.

I hope you enjoy finding out about our Nursery School. We are committed to working closely with parents to provide children with the best start in education so please come and visit us at anytime and we will show you around our nursery and explain the high quality education and care we have to offer.

We enjoyed our visit from Little Zoo to You - with Gemma yesterday. Gemma took us on a journey with Snowy the Guinea pig to look for the Gruffalo! Along the way we met Gary the snake, Millie the millipede, Prince Charming the frog, Spiro the Lizard and Zeus the snake! We enjoyed learning about the different animals and joining in with the story. Thank you, Gemma 😁🐍🐭🐢🦎🐹🐸

🌲Forest School Fun 😆 Once we had finished making our bird feeders for bird watching next week we made a massive mud slide and had the most fun EVER!😆

IT'S A GRUFFALO!! We've had lots of fun this week reading 'The Gruffalo' as our focus story in the Sunflower Room. We have expanded our Gruffalo learning into all areas of Nursery. Play-doh Gruffalos, drawing and labeling Gruffalos, dressing up as the Gruffalo and Gruffalo board games..... but our favourite has been re-enacting the story using masks and puppets in indoor and outdoor provision.
